Reality on Demand debuts

Tuesday, 10 January 2012 17:25

A mix of experience and unknowns will help bring to life a new, independent TV series that follows four strangers testing an advanced virtual reality game world. Composed of their favourite television shows and movies, they become trapped in a world where cancellation means death. So begins the adventure in Reality on Demand.

The series was filmed in and around Evansville, Indiana, USA during the summer and early autumn of 2011. Since then, collaborators Julie Hernandez Seaton and Jarrod Moschner have been working in post-production on the series so that all is ready to roll for the show’s debut on 18 January 2012. “Reality on Demand is packed with action, laughs, visual effects, and a few zombies. Everyone knows you can't have a web series without zombies” said series creator and director Marx Hernandez Pyle. “Most importantly, the show has great characters. It's a nice blend of comedy and drama. Once you're done watching season one, you'll want to follow the adventures of these characters and learn more about this crazy virtual world, which is a blend of television and film."

Watch out for Reality on DemandWill these very different strangers be able to work together to survive this very dangerous game? And what secrets are waiting to be revealed?”

Julie Hernandez Seaton (“Daylight”, “Three Tears on Blood Stained Flesh”) stars as Courtney Thompson, a struggling writer with a secret. Kevin Roach (“Three Tears on Blood Stained Flesh”) is Nick Jacobs, an uber-geek computer programmer, who is obsessed with TV and movies. Kathlin Finn (“Reality”) is Kelli Hartz, a wannabe celebrity looking for her big break. Aric Dylon Stanish (“Silence of the Belle”) is Trevor Clay, a war veteran focused on winning.

They are joined by experienced actors Jim Dougherty (“Scalene”, “Leach”, “Fire From Below”), Louie Lawless (“The Creepy Doll”, “My Bloody Wedding”), and Evansville Civic Theatre's Christopher P Tyner. Many of the actors portray fictional characters in the game, whose inspirations will be easily recognisable to fans of genre television.

Pyle hinted: “We have nods to many shows in the series. I don't want to give away too much, but if you are a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Grey's Anatomy, or Supernatural, then you'll want to check out season one. But there are nods to many more shows and genres than just those”.

Pyle, a Vancouver Film School graduate, has also gathered together talent behind the camera with graduates from New York Film Academy, Full Sail University, Ivy Tech and University of Evansville. Three seasons of Reality on Demand are planned.

The series will initially premiere on its own website, www.RealityOnDemandSeries.com - as well as via Blip.tv, iTunes, and SciFiPulse.net.
