Revelation of the Pyramids

In geological terms, the pyramids, as well as other ancient sites around the globe, including the infamous statues on Easter Island, are the ‘elephant in the living room’. They point towards inexplicable feats of engineering, completely impossible with the level of technology we widely expect these civilisations to have in their toolkit of skills. The building blocks were moved inordinate distances, the accuracy of their builds incredible in their execution.

A French co-production, it comes as no surprise that the truth comes out from a project for which English is very much the second language. Although there has always been the ability to dismiss alternative theories as to how these ancient monoliths came into being, stepping back and taking a deeper analysis always undermines these attempts - not only as unsatisfactory, but desperate in the extreme. This film does this and more besides.

Revelation of the Pyramids - on UK DVD & Blu-rayAfter nearly forty years of study and research, the producers of this documentary have at last managed as a first port of call to understand, and then to prove, what lies behind one of the greatest archaeological mysteries.

Patrice Pooyard, the director of the documentary, guides you through the world's oldest and most beautiful sites. In all it has taken six years of investigation, aided by his anonymous informants and technical specialists.  The result shakes world history to its very core, and revolutionises the topic of Egyptology quite literally from the ground up.

Having used the book “La Révélation des Pyramides” by Jacques Grimault as a starting point, the director has relentlessly gone out to find the visuals that will bring this alternative history into sharp focus. Getting actor Brian Cox (“Troy”, “The Bourne Supremacy”, “Braveheart”) to narrate the English soundtrack is something of a masterstroke. His voice breathes authority, while at the same time dismisses those who appear from the mainstream version of reality with a cynical disdain. Indeed, these ‘experts’ are clearly shown to be talking nonsense, easily being labelled as ‘coincidence theorists’ - who clutch at very large straws and almost hilarious leaps in logic to maintain the status quo in their areas of interest.

We are shown the mathematics at work, across the Earth’s surface as we see all these ‘wonders of the world’ are linked via the 50 or so occurrences of Pi and ‘The Magic Number’ in the related data between them all.  There is a zero probability that these could have occurred by accident. Indeed, the narration puts this and other factors to the sword with the proclamation: “How may coincidences have to happen before you have to look for another explanation?”

Cox describes much of the information that is put on show to us by the ancients as “A message in a bottle – addressed to us”. Giza is shown to be an astronomical clock, describing an age-old cycle of destruction and rebirth. Indeed, ancient drawings on building walls are shown to look exactly like a tank, a helicopter, a land-speeder from “Star Wars”, and even the iconic Thunderbird 2 from Thunderbirds!  We are told that this happened because two lots of hieroglyphs had been placed one on top of the other, and this was simply a case of the lower one coming to the surface and merging with the top layer. Of course, that sounds like a perfectly reasonable explanation, doesn’t it?

With the magnetic pole currently moving at a rate of 25 miles per year, it appears that the ancients were aware of the phenomena, and a pole inversion may have been anticipated in their time – seeing the poles themselves reverse polarity, all of which is shown to be linked to the Sun. As many studying our era’s climate change science will be aware, organisations like the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will tell you that our Sun has absolutely NOTHING to do with Earth’s climate.  This contradicts the view of the ancients, who were well aware that it is the Sun more than anything else which has led to previous climate catastrophe, and will do so again in the future!

So, if you want a “reversion” of your views on the nature of the pyramids and other wonders from Earth’s ancient history, then this will be a life-changing purchase. The documentary is confident in its assertions, and deserves as wide an audience as possible.  Unfortunately, I have the feeling it will not be broadcast in the UK any time soon.

“The Revelation of the Pyramids” is out now from Optimum Home Entertainment, with a Dolby DTS 5.1 Soundtrack. It has a ‘PG’ certificate, a running time of 100 minutes approx, and RRPs of £22.99 (Blu-ray) and £17.99 (DVD – version reviewed), or get either for less at
