What the Cineology Festivals set out top achieve ...

It’s a hard life being a fan of television shows and cult movies, especially when most event organisers see you as nothing more than a ‘walking wallet’.

Had enough of walking away with just a few autographs, and very few other memories? Wish you had more time to find out what the stars are really like? Heard others say there used to be more to conventions?

Cineology offers you a return to classic ways to show your appreciation of the best in small and big screen adventures.

Cineology, formerly Cult TV, has for the last 27 years been a grass roots fan movement, ever since 1983, in fact. It has been celebrating TV and film with a cult following from the 1960s right up to today’s cult hits from both sides of the Atlantic. It is run entirely by fellow fans, offering you the best value it can, for the well-being of various charities.

Running across four days, from Friday until Monday, the Cineology TV Weekender will bring you interviews with celebrity talent from both sides of the camera, television production workshops, a "Study Strand" that reveals the facts in extraordinary fiction, autograph sessions, memorabilia traders, charity auctions, a star cabaret, themed parties, discussion groups and debates, quizzes and competitions, fun and games and the annual international Cult TV Awards - voted for by you. The event is kept to a manageable size by limiting our maximum number of attendees to 1,000, so you did not feel like you'd entered a cattle market!

Cineology's TV Weekende celebrates cult fictional television, old and new, from a multitude of genres. It may on the surface look similar to numerous media conventions staged around the country, but we are about far more than just autographs and merchandise. The weekend experience helps you find out more about various TV series, in particular the shows that people love to see again, and help you discover new television treats that to some are previously unheard of. We will help you take control of your telly, and you'll never have to complain that there's nothing "on the box" ever again!

With celebrity interviews, workshops, quizzes, games, and screenings all running concurrently, at the Weekender has a wider range of activities scheduled over a longer length of time. Run by unpaid volunteers, over the years Cineology has raised over £51,000 for various good causes.

Your booking includes access to all the Weekender’s events from Friday until Monday.  A Premium package adds on such things as deluxe accommodation, free autographs, exclusive seating at the front of the main auditoriums, and a fun-packed "goodie bag".

We aren't po-faced - We simply enjoy the series we celebrate. Sometimes we get a little crazy, but we never lose respect for our source material!
