The Cult TV Festival is Back!

Because you demanded it! Returning for one day (and one night) only, it's the Cult TV Festival, celebrating its 21st Birthday in 2015!

Doomwatch Meets Cult TV - The Festival is back for its 21st Birthday

Since the last Cult TV Weekender in 2007, the corridors of television appreciation have remained fallow - nothing has emerged to fill the niche which was the residence of Cult TV and its unique way of celebrating extraordinary fictional television. Dipping the collective toes back in the waters of fandom, the return will be shared over a weekend with hot new show DOOMWATCH - already a year old, and will be celebrating its second anniversary by November 2015.  Two different themes for the Saturday and Sunday, two different pockets of interest, but every possibility that the cosmopolitan groups that appreciate their separate areas will look to crossover and make a weekend of it! Find out more, and book your tickets NOW via

Over the weekend of Friday 6th to Sunday 8th November inclusive, we bring you two one-day conventions back-to back at the Park Inn Telford, Shropshire - which played host to the Cult TV Festival back in 1998. Join us down the 'Memory Lane' of the 14 Cult TV Festivals from 1994 to 2007 on the Sunday. We will be looking to invite celebrity guests from across those years join us to turn back the clock, alongside those fans who are now part of the 'business', either in front of or behind the cameras and microphones. There will also be a Traders Hall, and a Private Bar with 10% off usual hotel prices. As has always been the case, you'll be able to nominate, vote and attend the evening's 22nd Annual CULT TV AWARDS ceremony. And we will conclude the evening with the Cult TV Festival 21st Birthday Theme Party, with all the music you've come to expect at such occasions! More importantly, we want YOU to tell us what you want to see, and who you want to see (within reason, given this is a small occasion with a limited budget!).

Starting as a Student Union Club back at Wolverhampton Polytechnic in 1983, it soon became larger than all the political societies there combined (with over 300 members). A magazine followed, before CULT TV eventually blossomed into an annual Festival, running for 14 years. Sometimes called a 'Weekender', as it took on the feel of music events of that name, the structure saw a multi-stream of events happening across a long weekend from Noon Friday to Noon Monday. With times having changed, and audiences wanting different styles of events, the Festival closed its doors on a high in 2007, with one of its best-ever conventions.

In the last couple of years, there have been various calls to bring back CULT TV. This one day convention is designed to celebrate what went before, but at the same time gauge the potential to regenerate the Festival for a brand new era. Exactly what will happen during the day will be up to those who buy a ticket, as we ask for their opinions on what is required. If you want to influence that schedule, you need to sign up now!

Preceding Cult TV on the Saturday is DOOMWATCH DAY - you chance to be part of the hot alternative current affairs show, in person! We will be celebratin the show's second anniversary with a whole day of new programmes. Some of the most entertaining expert guests from what will be 100 shows by then will be joining us, who will help us sift the truth from the spin, the conspiracy facts from the theories, the news from the propaganda, all done in the Doomwatch style which owes a lot to the irreverence and humour which you've come to know from the Cult TV Festivals. Evening entertainment will include a celebration of Edge Media Television, and you can finish off the day with our Conspiracy Theme Party Night! And like the CULT TV celebration, you can influence the topics we cover if you book your tickets early. Find out more about the show at

We expect there to be a lot of crossover interest between the two days, which is why we are making it best value to book with us, and the Park Inn Telford, for the three nights of the weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). And here's how:

  • Save £20.00 per person on individual day convention ticket prices
  • Bonus Friday, Saturday and Sunday night entertainment
  • Booking accommodation gives you free access to the onsite Leisure Club facilities
  • Allows you time to discover two different subject areas on the same weekend
  • Three nights' Dinner, Bed and Breakfast from £32.50 per person per night!

By Road, the Park Inn Telford is just off Junction 5 of the M54, this motorway itself is accessed via Junction 10A of the M6. The Train Station at Telford is just 400 metres away from the hotel. By Air, Birmingham International Airport is 42 miles away, and a connection by Train is a good way to complete your journey. For full directions CLICK HERE.

We have an allocation of rooms available for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, and to address feedback we have had, we are providing them this time on a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast basis. The cost for these DB&B options are £75.00 per room per night (for two people sharing a Twin or Double room), or £65.00 per room per night for Single Occupancy.

You can get best value when booking for the three nights, when they become £65.00 per night sharing and £55.00 per night single occupancy. Hence, stay three nights and save £30.00 on your stay!

For those arriving on the Friday night, registrations will be open from 8.30pm, with a "Pub Quiz" from 9.00pm to 10.30pm, which will combine with a "Meet and Greet" session.

All in all, a very different type of weekend, which we are sure will be one to remember!
